Vern has lived in Arcadia for over 50 years and is a retired bank trust officer after working some 35+ years in the banking arena. Vern graduated from San Diego State University with a major in Banking and Finance. He has been involved in community affairs, having served as Treasurer for both of the Arcadia Unified School District’s two successful bond issues to improve school facilities and being later named to the Citizen’s Oversight Committee for Measure A and for Measure I. He was a member of the Arcadia Public Library Foundation, serving as Treasurer, and is currently on the Board of the Friends of the Arcadia Public Library. In addition, Vern is active at his local church and has served on several committees and task forces over the years.
