Mike Vercillo M.D..

Mike was born in the Chicago area and, following high school, moved to California with his parents.

After attending California State University at Los Angeles, Mike married his college sweetheart, has two children, seven grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and has been an Arcadia resident since 1967.

Mike became a partner in the automotive business in the Alhambra area, which had five locations and almost eighty employees.

Mike began his career in law enforcement in 1999 as a Volunteer for the Alhambra Police Department.

In 2004, Mike became part of Homeland Security as the Safety Officer for the Airport Police in Burbank.

In 2007, Mike was hired by the Arcadia Police Department to assist in supervising the jail, where he served in that capacity for six years. Mike was then given the position of Community Affairs Officer and directed the Department’s Crime Prevention Protocols and Community Outreach Programs.

After almost fourteen years with Arcadia P.D., Mike finally retired and is enjoying civilian life with lots of traveling in his new motor home. For over forty years, Mike has also enjoyed exploring the back roads and four-wheel-drive trails of California in his 1972 Classic K-5 Chevy Blazer. Mike spends his extra time with the Arcadia Chamber of Commerce as an Ambassador and member of the Board of Directors, the Arcadia Historical Society as a member of the Board of Directors, where he also co-authors weekly Historical TidBit Articles that are viewed over the Internet, the Arcadia Methodist Hospital Foundation Fundraising Committee, the Arcadia Community Coordinating Council as First Vice President in charge of programs, and, of course, the Arcadia Police Foundation as a member of the Board of Directors.
